Thursday's Thriving Thought

Do you ever notice that you live constantly looking at the clock and on to what's next? I know I do. Whether I am at work waiting for the bell to ring and end the day or at home wondering how long until I need to start preparing the next meal, it seems I am always on to the next. But what about the now?

Only when I stop I realize how quickly time flies by, do I realize I am not fully in the moment. How the school year starts as fast as it ends. How each day seems like a page ripping off a calendar in a movie. It's all just too fast.

Instead of looking back and dwelling on the past, live for the now. Rather than looking forward to the next activity, days event or vacation, live for the moment. If we are so quick to sail through each part of the day it won't be long before all we do is look back and wonder where the time went.

Think of how you can better live in the moment starting today. Is it by putting your phone down and enjoying some fresh air and sunshine rather than scrolling through Facebook? Is it being totally present mentally, physically and emotionally when you are with your family? Wherever you can improve, do it.

Be thankful for every second of every day no matter what is happening. Live each moment to the fullest rather than looking forward or back. Let us all try...and just...be.

Strive to thrive,
Em
