Old Frames, New Use
I remember when I stumbled across my first frame; I didn't know why I needed it, I just did. After that initial purchase, one thing led to another and I started (as I often do) collecting frames from my visits to garage sales and antique markets. At first, I wasn't quite sure what to do with them, so I just tucked them away for when I felt inspired. It wasn't until we moved into our last home that I decided to pull them out and make a frame-tastic display.
Since moving into our new home, I have been able to achieve so many of my decorating dreams. I knew upon walking into my kitchen nook that this was the wall that the frames needed to be. They would perfectly showcase all the future art projects coming home in the next few years. I got out my supplies and got to work....these old frames had found a brand new use.
I decided to use some lovely burlap ribbon my MIL gave me as I just adored the texture and slight striped sass it. I wrapped each frame at the top, and proceeded to draft my design.
Once each frame was secured with ribbon, I carefully tacked it to the wall. I made sure to tie the ribbon tightly over the tack holding it in place. I worked my way out from the center until all my fabulous frames were hung.
Once they were all up, I grabbed a few of my vintage clips and secured them inside the frame with a thinner piece of burlap ribbon. Before I knew it I was done!
The wall was off to a great start, but has some room to grow. I plan to collect larger frames and add them to the showcase. I look forward to adding them to the mix and am even more excited than ever to watch these frames transform into a spectacular art gallery!
