DIY: Wine Cork Letter
When I spotted this DIY craft on Pinterest, I was immediately intrigued. Not only because I had vast collection of wine corks, but also because I love a good letter project.
Since I already had a massive cardboard "P" in my garage, as well as paint and a paintbrush, I was ready to get started. I set up my work station outside, grabbed my slate blue paint and got to "phase 1".
I painted the edges and front of the "P", leaving only the back untouched. Once it was dry, I brought my wine corks out and plugged in my glue gun. This is when I first noticed that I may not have has as many wine corks as I originally thought. Since my wine drinking days had stopped completely once I was pregnant, I hadn't been adding to my stash as usual. Thank G for good wine drinking friends like my girl C, who was happy to donate a huge bag to help me get this project done!
With my glue gun hot and ready for action, I started to place my corks all along my lovely letter. I wanted the corks to cover the entire front and really stand out. I tried to keep the "two buck Chuck" corks to the center so people who took a closer look wouldn't see what a cheap-wino I was.
I moved my cork collection to the center of the "P" for easy picking and flew threw it. The curve proved slightly harder to determine the best cork placement, but I just went for it and it all worked out just fine.
Soon, I was done! The corks were well placed all over my big "P" and I was ready to have my TH hang it above my vintage bar in the house. Finally, I had finished a long overdue Pinterest project and was thrilled with how it turned out!
