Decade of Love

It is hard to believe that while I have only been married for three short years, I have had the greatest decade of my life.  Meeting, falling in love and committing to spend the rest of my life with my best friend has been quite a journey.  So, it is today that I celebrate another great year of marriage and it is in this month that I celebrate my tenth year with my boo, my rock and the great love of my life, my Thriving Husband.

Meeting my TH when I was only 18 and starting my second year at a rather rowdy college made our relationship that much more work.  Granted, he was practically a grandfather, at nearly 22, but for some reason he "picked" me. For three of my four college years, he was the greatest part of my life (right up there with my sorority functions of course).  I learned to not only love someone else, but also how to love myself.  Never having a "real boyfriend" before him, I thought no one would ever like me enough to want to date me let alone grow to love me.  I was a total freak!  I was tall, loud, far too outgoing and I dare say slightly crazy.  However, there was a plan for us written in the stars and I thank the Universe each and every day for bringing him into my life.

We used the quote, "Where there is love, there is life" from Mahatma Ghandi for our wedding and it still rings true today.  So much of my happiness comes from loving him and without him I feel as though I would cease to be.  He lights up my life and is truly my other half.  Not every day is perfect, but as long as I have him I know we can get through anything.

So, to my amazing husband on our special day:

I love you.  Thank you for being my prince charming and loving me despite my (many) faults.  I truly am the luckiest girl in the world and hope you know that you are my sun, moon and stars.  This has been the best ten years of my life and I can't wait to enjoy the next decade and forever together.  Happy Anniversary to my first, my last and my only love!

***HUGE thank you to my amazing wedding photographer, Natalie Thompson for the great shots!***
