School's Out For Summer!
Well, my favorite time of year has finally arrived...school is out today and summer is officially HERE! This was the latest I have ever gotten out for summer, but that is what I get for moving and starting at a new district with a new calendar. I usually get out late May, so this was absolute torture! But then again, I did have four months off last summer so I guess this is only fair. But this glorious Friday has finally come, and to say I am excited would be the greatest understatement that ever was or will be. Words cannot describe my elation as this was an incredibly tough professional year for me. But, I did it. I made it through, one day at a time. While everyday was a challenge, I learned a ton and had the opportunity to work with some incredible people. As they say, "Everything happens for a reason". With the end of the school year comes the start to some great new friendships.
So, now, many ask (my TH mainly) what on Earth am I going to do with all this free time? Well, DUH that is easy...NEST!!! I cannot wait to wake up each morning, throw on my overalls, pour myself a cup of "joe" and get to workin'! So much to do and so MUCH time to do it all. My dreams have finally come true. Real life house, lots of time, and tons of long forgotten treasures to be found in my storage, HOLLLLLA!!!!
Aside from nest-a-palooza, I plan to pick up lots of extra fitness classes and start taking on clients. This too is also very exciting for me as I am single handedly trying to build a fitness empire. I've already had quite a few people asking for my non-existent business card (don't worry Nic is designing as we speak). With all that fitness fun, the beach a mere 7 miles away, I am just going to be in absolute heaven!
Not to mention the stacks of books no longer able to taunt me, I will sit and read every single one. I will take long walks, meander through my new neighborhood learning everything there is to know about my community and just take it sllllooooowwwww.
Oh how I love summer, thank goodness I got into teaching. How you 12 month people do it, I just don't know. I plan to enjoy every second of my paid freedom because I sure as hell earned it!
